Introducing the MOTOZINE ZN5, by Motorola

Rumors about Motorola coming out with a new camera phone started circulating a couple of weeks ago. What made that rumor special was the fact that the camera phone that was mentioned, which was called the ZN5 back then, will have a KODAK’s imaging technology for its camera. But of course, like all mobile rumors, we wouldn’t report about it, until it gets officially announced by the manufacturers. Fortunately, it didn’t take Motorola that long to announce its new camera phone - the MOTOZINE ZN5. And just like the rumor said, the MOTOZINE ZN5 is indeed equipped with a Kodak camera, a 5-megapixel Kodak CCD. With combining KODAK imaging technology and Motorola ModeShift technology, the ZINE ZN5 has become one sleek, immersive mobile device. The ZINE ZN5’s Kodak camera is also equipped with auto-focus function and a Xenon flash and some nifty optimized settings for using the camera in a low-light environment. And since we are talking here about a Kodak camera, it goes without saying that the ZINE ZN5 would have a tie-up with Kodak’s popular online photo gallery, Kodak’s EasyShare software for managing photos on a PC,as well as Bluetooth connectivity to Kodak’s all-in-one printers and Kodak kiosks. The ZINE ZN5’s mobile features is not be neglected as well. The ZN5 features Motorola’s patented CrystalTalk technology to help callers hear and be heard, even in noisy environments. With dual compatibility for GSM and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), users can connect in more areas around the world and enjoy high-speed wireless connections to surf the Web via a full HTML browser. Completing users’ communications experience, the ZN5 also supports SMS, MMS, IM and personal e-mail. The ZN Z5 gives out up to 349 to 574 minutes of talk time and up to 310 to 579 hours of standby time. The ZN5’s other features include; 2.4″ TFT Display, full HTML open source browser, 3.5mm A/V jack, FM radio, MP3, WMA, WIFI, Windows Media Player 11, Video-C/P 15fps, MPEG4, H263, and TVout.
The Sony Ericsson C905 Whallops an 8.1 MP Camera

You read it right folks, that’s the new Sony Ericsson camera phone whalloping a whooping 8.1 megapixel camera. It’s not a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera but a Cyber-shot camera phone. Being the first Cyber-shot slider phone, the C905 offers the most advanced camera phone yet. Like the Sony Ericsson S302, the C905 was created to make all mobile users better photographers. The C905’s camera features include; true digital camera with Xenon flash with face detection auto-focus, smart contrast and image stabilizer. It also provides an easy and quick way of transferring photos from the camera to the PC with a USB adaptor. Here’s a rundown of the C905 features and specifications. For its other camera function the C905 features; auto focus, 16x digital zoom, photofix, picture blogging, red-eye reduction, video light, video recording and video stabilizer. For its connectivity, the C905 features aGPS, Bluetooth, modem, synchronization, USB mass storage and support. Other features of the Sony Ericsson C905 include; a 2.4-inches 262, 144 color TFT display (240×320 pixels), 160MB phone memory, GSM/GPRS talk time of 9 hours, GSM/GPRS standby time of 380 hours, UMTS talk time of 4 hours and UMTS standby time of 360 hours. One of the leaked mobile phones that we featured a couple of days ago have come out earlier than we expected. Nokia has announced its latest offering in the business-oriented E-Series mobile handsets - the E66. The Nokia E66 is a slide-to-open mobile handset which promises a full suite of mobile e-mail functionality that would answer both personal and professional messaging needs that even include Microsoft Exchange - the world’s widely used corporate email solution. Slated for a July release in Europe with an SRP of 350 Euro, the E66 is geared for business people with a fast phase mobile lifestyle who needs quick and easy access to their personal and work email as well their calendar and contacts. This functionality is combined with the E66’s beautifully crafted industrial design. The E66’s body is made of stainless steel for strength and touch of class. The Nokia E66is fully equipped with an easy-to-install and easy-to-use professional and personal email application which allows users to download Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF applications in their mobile phones. In addition, the Nokia E66 also gives access to major web-based email applications such as Google, Yahoo and Microsof Web mail tools. Other features of the Nokia E66 include, a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, music player, media player, WIFI, GPS, FS-USB, irDA, Bluetooth, 2.5mm AV connector, S60 platform and HSDPA 3G connectivity. Incidentally, the E66 is the official successor to the previously released Nokia E65, so E65 users would have an idea how this mobile phone performs.

You just got to love the resourcefulness of some mobile phone afficionados on the web when it comes to obtaining leak photos and specs of upcoming mobile phones from major brands. The past couple of weeks we’ve seen unofficial announcements about new phones here and there. It’s not that we’re complaining, in fact we actually like it as those leakages give us a headstart on what’s going to be hot and what’s going to be not hot. In the case of the new Sony Ericsson C905 Shiho phone, we couldn’t help but be excited about it. Who would not be excited with a mobile phone that promises an 8.1 megapixel camera anyway? This might be what Sony Ericsson to catch up with the camera phone market which has been captured by rival Nokia. Anyway, the Sony Ericsson C905’s camera boasts of the 8.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus, face recognition, smart contrast, image stabilization, red-eye reduction and xenon flash. It’s other features include; GPS with support for A-GPS, 2.4-inch QVGA scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display, WI-FI, Bluetooth, HSDPA, TV-Out, and Memory Stick slot of course. The C905 will be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver and Night Black. As this is an unofficial announcements yet, we’re pretty sure there will be more features in the C905 mobile phone. And that’s something that we will watch out for.
Thinner, Cheaper and Faster iPhone 2.0

There you have it folks. The much anticipated WWDC has just concluded. Almost everyone in this whole internet are probably writing about the new iPhone by now. Or shall we say - the new thinner, faster and cheaper iPhone. All the rumors and speculations have been answered. Steve Jobs unveiled the second iteration of its great mobile phone products. The new iPhone promises to bring around 20,000 million units sold for Apple. And it also promises to reach as many people in the world as it can. So what has the new iPhone store for all of us? Three things - slightly new design, almost half the price of the old iphone and of course 3G internet connection. The iPhone 3G uses HSDPA to download data fast over UMTS networks. That will pretty much speed up loading times for email attachments and web pages. And users can quickly switch seamlessly from EDGE to 3G to WIFI, so users practically has 3 ways of connecting to the Internet. The iPhone 3G also gives you mobile multitasking capabilities, so users can talk on the phone while surfing the web, checking email, or using Maps, all thanks to the 3G cellular network. Next, the new iPhone also a GPS navigation feature. This is a much sought feature in the older version and finally Apple give in to users’ demand and included this feature in the new iPhone. With GPS, you can find your location, get directions, gives you map views, and lets you see traffic. Other new features of the new iPhone include; include direct link to the Apple Store, support for Microsoft Exchange Active Sync, more language support, better email management, new contacts search, enhanced viewing of attachments, and practically all the features that were introduced in the old version of the iPhone plus more. Now, the biggest surprise of them all, the new iPhone’s price – the 8GB iPhone will retail for $199!

E-Ten DX900 Boasts of Dual-Sim Card Slot

E-Ten has introduced 3 new smartphones in its line-up during the Computex. One of these new E-Ten models features a dual-sim card slot which is the first for E-Ten’s line-up of mobile phones - the DX900. The DX900 allows users to use two mobile operators at the same time. It is also considered as a world phone which runs on quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA. And since it is a smartphone, it features Windows Mobile 6.1 for its OS. Aside from these great features, the E-Ten DX900 also touts a 3.0 megapixel camera which is good enough as per standards of smart phones in its class. Plus this camera has an auto-focus, digital zoom, and accepts video calling and can record video as well. With Windows Mobile 6.1 as its OS, the DX900 will come pre-installe with various mobile Microsoft applications including Windows Media Player. Other features of the E-Ten DX900 include microSD slot, predictive text input, USB 2.0, WiFi and Bluetooth, Capacity depends on system memory, Multiple Numbers Per Contact, Picture ID, Ring ID, PIM features ( Alarm, Calendar, Calculator, TO-DO, Notes). Lastly, the E-Ten DX900 would also have a GPS capability although not too many details were available about it yet. Pricing details and release date are not yet available for this smartphone..
LG Announces the KC550

LG is coming out with a new mid-level phone which is being targeted for the European market - the KC550. This new mobile slider packs a whooping 5-megapixel camera at such an affordable price. It features a Scheneider-Kreuznach autofocus lens which is protected by a sliding cover including the flash. The LG KC550 also boasts of a fast processor which is a useful feature when viewing large photos and also for watching DVD videos with high resolution. The KC550 is capable of viewing 720×480 videos at 30fps. Unfortunately, its video camera does not support DivX format yet. The KC550 is also packed with an integrated sensor that makes it possible to take advantage of the six preloaded “motion sensitive” games. This feature is similar to the recently released LG Secret mobile phone. The KC550 also features a microSD slot, stereo Bluetooth and QVGA display. For those looking for a slim mobile phone, the KC550 measures only 14.3mm in thickness. Other features and specifications of the LG KC550 include; 2.4-inch TFT LCD, video player, FM radio, and a built-in 25mb memory. As the LG KC550 has just been announced, no word on pricing and release date is available yet. But like we said, since it doesn’t have a 3G capability, chances are it will be released only in the European mobile market, or perhaps even in some Asian countries where 3G is not yet that established. But still, the LG KC550 is still a great phone especially with its 5mp camera which high enough in mobile phone camera standards.
MWG Zinc II

Going all the way in Singapore, MWG which the smartphone arm of O2 in Asia has released a new smarthphone in the Singaporean market - the MWG Zinc II. The MWG Zinc II is a Windows Mobile 6.1 powered smarthphone which boasts of a slide-out keyboard. But the Zinc II’s keyboard has no real keys, instead the keyboard area is flat with raised bevels around the key areas. The MWG Zinc also features a quick menu and it can be quickly launch using a touch button in the phone’s today screen. The quick menu features four functions/shortcuts which are the Windows Media Player, pictures and videos, camera and games. It also feature a finger swiping feature for accesing contacts and other short cuts. On its network connectivity features, the MWG Zinc II boasts of a 3.6mbps HSDPA speeds, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS antenna. The GPS also features a nifty viewer. The MWG Zinc II also features a 2-megapixel camera. Other features of the MWG Zinc II include; Samsung 500 MHz processor, 2.8-inch TFT QVGA Touch Screen, semi-automatic sliding mechanism with qwerty keypad, WLAN (802.11 b/g) and BT v 2.0, GPS SirF Star III, 64MB SDRAM, 256MB NAND Flash ROM, MicroSD expandable memory, speakerphone, stereo speaker, playback support: MIDI, MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, WVE, AMR, AAC, AAC+, DRM: OMA 1.0, Ringtone Support: MIDI, MP3, WMA. The MWG Zinc II offers up Standby time of up to (GSM) 200-260 hours and Talk time of up to (GSM) 4-6 hours.
