March 13, 2007

Sanyo 3200The Sanyo 3200, a model number identifying it as the latest version and possible upgrade to the 3100, has just gotten the green light from the FCC. Most pertinent documents regarding the handset are still sealed, but available info and images show that it might look ulike previous Sanyo phones made for Sprint. The design is somewhat reminicent of the high end M1. The only things we know for sure is that it’s a CDMA plus Analog (AMPS) handset with Bluetooth connectivity. It will also carry an integrated camera, of undisclosed resolution, which will probably have LED flash.

CNET reviews the Sanyo SCP-3100 (Pure Silver)

May 23, 2006

sanyoscp3100.jpg
The Sanyo SCP-3100 may remind you of a kid’s walkie-talkie, thanks to the plastic exterior and the large speaker grille. But in spite of its simple exterior, the Sanyo SCP-3100 looks to have a solid feature set. The SCP-3100’s Ready Link support, VGA camera, voice recording, speakerphone, great audio quality, 1.75″ 65K color lcd screen and GPS function seem to make up for the rather cheap first impression. The SCP-3100 is currently available for $199.99, though you can get it for $99.99 after a two-year service agreement with Sprint.

Sanyo VM4500 Cell Phone

August 15, 2005

Sanyo VM4500
The Sanyo VM4500 cell phone is a loud ringer cell phone for Sprint. There is a color external display with photo caller ID capability. The VM4500 also comes with an integrated camera and flash. You can also record and send video if desired. The volume is easily controlled via buttons on the side.

Inside, one is pleasantly surprised by the large color screen and backlit keypad. The keys, however, are flush which makes dialing by feel difficult. The speaker phone is easily accessible with its own dedicated button.

The strong point of the phone (depending on one’s perspective) is its louder than average speaker volume.
