Panasonic Developing Wi-Fi phone for Skype

Panasonic Communications is said to be working on a Wi-Fi phone for use with Skype. With this new phone, users will be able to make and receive Skype calls to Skype users from Wi-Fi access points anywhere.

Panasonic got approval from the FCC for its X800 GSM phone. The cell phone features GSM, Bluetooth, miniSD card slot, VGA camera with flash, dual color displays, speakerphone, speaker-independent voice dialing, and miniSD card slot. The main display will be 176 x 208 pixels TFT LCD screen capable of 65,000 colors. The phone is also slated to have Quickoffice installed to allow editing of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents.
