Sharp unveils thinnest CMOS camera module for smartphones

As the smartphones that we all know and love get thinner, the components inside the device must get thinner too. Super thin smartphones like the Droid Razr for instance can benefit from things like even thinner camera sensors.

AT&T to launch HTC Titan on November 20th for $199.99

AT&T announced on Wednesday that it will launch the HTC Titan Windows Phone on November 20th for $199.99 on contract. The carrier touted the Titan as “the largest screen in our smartphone portfolio” alongside launch details in a post  on its Facebook page . HTC’s Titan features Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone operating system, Mango, along with a massive 4.7-inch display, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor and a gorgeous unibody aluminum design.

Sony buys out Ericsson for $1.5B, as it tries to become more like Apple

Sony is moving forward with its long-rumored plans to buy out Ericsson from its joint mobile venture, in a bid to wrangle control of its future smartphones. The deal, worth some 1.05 billion euros (or $1.5 billion), is a significant move for Sony.

Sony Ericsson, the decade-long joint venture between electronics giant Sony and the Swedish telecom company Ericsson, may soon be no more. Sony is reportedly in talks to buy out Ericsson’s share in the venture, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal and Reuters .
