Nokia N78 North American Version Released

Loyal Nokia fans in the US have more than reason to rejoice with the release of one of Nokia’s N-series models - the sleek looking N78. The Nokia N78 combines advanced mobile features including A-GPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and high-speed HSDPA connectivity on North American 850/1900 MHz networks and boasts of other features such as Nokia Maps and Share on Ovi. The Nokia N78 also features maximum voice and messaging performanc. “Offering the robust feature set expected from an Nseries device, the integration of these features with Nokia’s new suite of Ovi services is what makes the Nokia N78 a perfect companion for a connected and mobile lifestyle,” said William Plummer, Vice President of Go-to-Market for Nokia. “Whether using GPS to find my way across town, adding geotag information to the images I capture and upload to Share on Ovi, or using the FM transmitter to listen to my music collection through my car stereo, the Nokia N78 keeps me connected and entertained wherever I go.” In addition, each Nokia N78 comes with a free three-month trial navigation license for the Nokia maps services. The Samsung LG Dare Arrives in Verizon

Verizon Wireless has just added a new mobile phone in its line-up useful and powerful mobile handsets. We’re talking about the LG Dare VX9700, a non-smartphone that features touchscreen LCD display. The LG Dare follows the LG Voyager and Samsung Glyde in Verizon’s stable of touchscreen mobile handsets which are being touted to compete with the Samsung Instinct and iPhone 3G which are being carried by rival mobile companies, Sprint (for the Instinct) and AT&T (for the iPhone 3G). The Samsung Dare boasts of a 3-inch diagonal WQVGA touch-sensitive display with light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and face detection, VGA video recording, built-in photo and video editing features, web browser, a 3.5 mm headset jack, media player with equalizer, handwriting recognition, drag and drop features, contacts photo interface, Bluetooth 2.1, accelerometer, EVDO Rev A, microUSB, 8GB microSDHC memory cards. Verizon is offering the LG Dare for $199 after rebate with a tw-year contract, $249 after $50 rebate with one-year contract and $409 if you don’t want to get tied up under a Verizon contract.

The other basic phone that was announced by Sony Ericsson a couple of days ago is also a simple basic phone with an added camera feature for photo and video capturing - the K330. The Sony Ericsson K330 allows users to store up to 250 photos or 12 minutes of video footages which can later on be shared wirelessly through Bluetooth. And with the Bluetooth connectivity, you can easily and quickly connect the K330 to a compatible Bluetooth headsets such as the Sony Ericsson HBH-PV715, 720 and 740. The K330 also makes communication easy by allowing users to store up to 1000 contacts and as much as 450 text messages. Furthermore, its light up torch functionality is a useful feature to help users find their way around on a dark environment. Other features of this simple Sony Ericsson device include; 10MB internal memory, 0.3 megapixel camera, support for MP3 as music tones. For messaging purposes, the Sony Ericsson K330 supports SMS, MMS and predictive text inputing. The K330 also offers entertainment value such as a FM radio, Java support and video viewing. The Sony Ericsson K330 will be available in Gold on Black and Green on Black, in selected markets from Q3 2008. It supports GSM/GPRS 900/1800 network.

Rumors about Motorola coming out with a new camera phone started circulating a couple of weeks ago. What made that rumor special was the fact that the camera phone that was mentioned, which was called the ZN5 back then, will have a KODAK’s imaging technology for its camera. But of course, like all mobile rumors, we wouldn’t report about it, until it gets officially announced by the manufacturers. Fortunately, it didn’t take Motorola that long to announce its new camera phone - the MOTOZINE ZN5. And just like the rumor said, the MOTOZINE ZN5 is indeed equipped with a Kodak camera, a 5-megapixel Kodak CCD. You read it right folks, that’s the new Sony Ericsson camera phone whalloping a whooping 8.1 megapixel camera. It’s not a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera but a Cyber-shot camera phone. Being the first Cyber-shot slider phone, the C905 offers the most advanced camera phone yet. Like the Sony Ericsson S302, the C905 was created to make all mobile users better photographers. The C905’s camera features include; true digital camera with Xenon flash with face detection auto-focus, smart contrast and image stabilizer. It also provides an easy and quick way of transferring photos from the camera to the PC with a USB adaptor. Here’s a rundown of the C905 features and specifications. Designed to make their mobile phone customers better photographers, the S302 makes it easier to take great photos without letting users miss any magic moment. Easy on the budget but heavy on features, the S302 will come in Crystal Blue and Thunder Grey in selected markets from Q4 2008. The S302 (and S302c for China markets) will support GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900. The Sony S302 sports a premium finish with its mere 11 mm thickness and high gloss finish. It lets you share photos instantly via direct posting blogs or wirelessly to other phones or to computers via Bluetooth. It even offers photo editing through Photo Fix. Other features of the Sony Ericsson S302 include; 264.144 color TFT, 20 MB internal memory plus memory stick micro (M2) slot. It also boasts of a full-function 2.0 megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, photo fix, photo light, picture blogging, video light and video recording features. For connectivity, the S302 supports Bluetooth technology, can be used as a modem, and USB mass storage and USB support. The S302 also functions as a music player with its Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), media player which supports various formats, music tones, PlayNow and Track ID features. Additionally, this phone features entertainment applications and tools such as 3D games, FM radio RDS, Java application, video streaming and video viewing. The Sony Ericsson S302 will be available in Q4. Two color variants of these mobile phone will be released by then – Crystal Blue and Thunder Grey.

The Nokia E71 Gets the Official Treatment

Aside from the E66, the other Nokia handsets which were announced yesterday was another E-Series model - the E71. Like the E66, Nokia is also touting the E71 as an e-mail enhanced mobile phone handsets geared for the mobile business professionals. The Nokia E71 boasts of bringing an optimized email and messaging experience with full QWERTY keyboard and pocket-size for one-handed typing. It features two highly customizable home screen views with stand-by plug-ins and application shortcuts for fast and easy switching between business and personal modes. In addition, the E71 also provides quick access to applications with one-touch keys, intelligent input with auto-completion, auto-correction and learning capability that ensures fast and error free typing. For mobile email solution, the E71 supports Nokia’s Intellisync Wireless email, Mail for Exchange and other corporate server mail formats, POP/IMAP and 3rd party web-mail solutions including Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Microsoft Live Mail. Other features of the Nokia E71 include; 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, front camera for video calls, music and media player, Nokia mini-map browser, Online sharing through Nokia’s Ovi, data encryption for both phone memory and memory card. For connectivity, the Nokia E71 features WCDMA max download of 384kbps, HSDPA up to 3.6 mbps, WIFI, EGPRS, GPS, FS-USB, Bluetooth and a 2.5mm AV connector. This phone is slated also for release sometime in July with an SRP of around 350 euro.
