There you have it folks. The much anticipated WWDC has just concluded. Almost everyone in this whole internet are probably writing about the new iPhone by now. Or shall we say - the new thinner, faster and cheaper iPhone. All the rumors and speculations have been answered. Steve Jobs unveiled the second iteration of its great mobile phone products. The new iPhone promises to bring around 20,000 million units sold for Apple. And it also promises to reach as many people in the world as it can. So what has the new iPhone store for all of us? Three things - slightly new design, almost half the price of the old iphone and of course 3G internet connection. The iPhone 3G uses HSDPA to download data fast over UMTS networks. That will pretty much speed up loading times for email attachments and web pages. And users can quickly switch seamlessly from EDGE to 3G to WIFI, so users practically has 3 ways of connecting to the Internet. The iPhone 3G also gives you mobile multitasking capabilities, so users can talk on the phone while surfing the web, checking email, or using Maps, all thanks to the 3G cellular network. Next, the new iPhone also a GPS navigation feature. This is a much sought feature in the older version and finally Apple give in to users’ demand and included this feature in the new iPhone. With GPS, you can find your location, get directions, gives you map views, and lets you see traffic. Other new features of the new iPhone include; include direct link to the Apple Store, support for Microsoft Exchange Active Sync, more language support, better email management, new contacts search, enhanced viewing of attachments, and practically all the features that were introduced in the old version of the iPhone plus more. Now, the biggest surprise of them all, the new iPhone’s price – the 8GB iPhone will retail for $199!

AT&T now carries the LG Vu mobile entertainment phone with 3G

AT&T has just launched its new streaming mobile TV service, the phone company also launched two multimedia phones that support the service. One of these two mobile phones, is the LG Vu. If you would recall the LG Prada concept phone, the LG Vu sports almost the same sleek, black design. But of course, in terms of features, the LG Vu is far superior that what the Prada phone can offer. The LG Vu boasts of advanced mobile phone features that fuses design and technology. The LG Vu gives out crystal clear TV streaming, web browsing, picture and video viewing, music entertainment, imaging and video capturing as well as connectivity featuers. Among the LG Vu’s features include; a large interactive 3-inch touch screen, music player with equalizer, Bluetooth, , microSD memory port, 2 megapixel camera that supports still images and videos, one-touch speakerphone, mobile email, streaming digital radio. AT&T releases the Palm Centro - Obsidian

AT&T has announced the new Palm Centro in its line up of smartphones. Palm Centro is an ultra compact smarthphone that packs of QWERT keyboard with full features. It’s got triple connectivity features – via USB, Bluetooth and IR. The Palm Centro is also a full featured organizational and productivity device with support for email, IMs and Push-to-Talk service. In addition to this features, the Palm Centro can also be a substitute for portable music players, as AT&T is bringing its Music service into the Centro as well as its XM Radio. Other details and specifications of the Palm Centro include; 1.3 megapixel camera, 4GB microSD expansion memory, picture and video messaging, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync compatibility, good mobile messaging, Xpress mail support and push to talk. On the technical side, the Palm Centro touts of 3 hours talk time and 10 days stand by time, Palm OS 5.4.9, Intel 312 MHz CPU, 64MB flash RAM, 2.2” touchscree display with 64k colors. AT&T is making the Blackberry smarthphone through its business plans for $199.99 with a two-year service contract less rebates and discounts. The Blackberry Pearl 8120 is loaded with business utilities perfect for corporate individuals. It has Wi-Fi capabilities with global roaming for voice calls in over 200 countries and email and web browsing in over 140 countries. Individuals who travel to different countries in the course of their work will find these features valuable for them. It will save them time checking office emails or sharing for needed data through the Blackberry Pearl’s improved web browsing speed via global GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. The Blackberry Pearl is also a multi-function device that can also serve as a video recorded. AT&T, Samsung Up the Ante with the New BlackJack II Smart Device

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) has announced the availability later this year of the BlackJack IIâ„¢, a sleek, smart and simple device powered by AT&T’s 3G-enabled BroadbandConnect network that has the familiar look and feel of your desktop with Windows Mobile 6. The BlackJack II had its first public showing today during a keynote address by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2007 in San Francisco.
RAZR2 Available in a few weeks through Most US Carriers

Motorola recently announced that most US wireless operators will begin selling its new Moto RAZR2 in the coming weeks. The list of carriers that will be selling different versions of the phone includes Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon wireless. The V9m variant will be sold by Sprint for $250 and Verizon Wirless for $300. The RAZR2 will be available from Sprint’s online store by the 22nd of this month but will be hitting retail stores by the 4th of September. Verizon has yet to announce a firm availability date yet but said that it’ll be coming out soon. No information is available on pricing or availability from other carriers. Various online sources have reported that AT&T have been spending the last six weeks making last minute tweeks to its EDGE network, and all under media black out. Supposedly, the aim is to improve the network’s throughput, latency and coverage, preparing itself for a whole new batch of subscribers who have been lusting after the Apple iPhone.

Two days from now (June 4), Samsung’s SGH-a717 joins the ranks of AT&T, making it one of the slimmest 3G phone on the network’s lineup, with only 12.9mm. It will be loaded with AT&T services such as AT&T Mobile Music, Cellular Video, MobiTV and MobiRadio access, including the soon to be launched Video Share service, which, as SlashPhone writes, “allows users to add a live, one-way video stream to a standard voice call, allowing the called party to view what the caller is seeing during a voice call. Both customers must be in an area served by the company’s 3G network and have a Video Share-enabled phone.”
Other features of the a717 include a 2.0 megapixel camera, Quadband GSM technology, Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD memory card slot and will cost SRP US $149.99 wo-year contract activation and a $50 mail-in rebate.

AT&T To Offer International Text Messaging Plans

Beginning on June 3, AT&T subscribers can now subscribe to International Text Messaging Plans — making them the first major US carrier to offer this feature. This service, which comes with a US $9.99 monthly fee, enables users to send 100 international text messages (picture and video messages not included) a month, will allow international texters to save up to 50 percent as opposed to the pay per use service.
