Nokia N78 North American Version Released

Loyal Nokia fans in the US have more than reason to rejoice with the release of one of Nokia’s N-series models - the sleek looking N78. The Nokia N78 combines advanced mobile features including A-GPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and high-speed HSDPA connectivity on North American 850/1900 MHz networks and boasts of other features such as Nokia Maps and Share on Ovi. The Nokia N78 also features maximum voice and messaging performanc. “Offering the robust feature set expected from an Nseries device, the integration of these features with Nokia’s new suite of Ovi services is what makes the Nokia N78 a perfect companion for a connected and mobile lifestyle,” said William Plummer, Vice President of Go-to-Market for Nokia. “Whether using GPS to find my way across town, adding geotag information to the images I capture and upload to Share on Ovi, or using the FM transmitter to listen to my music collection through my car stereo, the Nokia N78 keeps me connected and entertained wherever I go.” In addition, each Nokia N78 comes with a free three-month trial navigation license for the Nokia maps services. Rumors about Motorola coming out with a new camera phone started circulating a couple of weeks ago. What made that rumor special was the fact that the camera phone that was mentioned, which was called the ZN5 back then, will have a KODAK’s imaging technology for its camera. But of course, like all mobile rumors, we wouldn’t report about it, until it gets officially announced by the manufacturers. Fortunately, it didn’t take Motorola that long to announce its new camera phone - the MOTOZINE ZN5. And just like the rumor said, the MOTOZINE ZN5 is indeed equipped with a Kodak camera, a 5-megapixel Kodak CCD. With combining KODAK imaging technology and Motorola ModeShift technology, the ZINE ZN5 has become one sleek, immersive mobile device. The ZINE ZN5’s Kodak camera is also equipped with auto-focus function and a Xenon flash and some nifty optimized settings for using the camera in a low-light environment. The Sony Ericsson C905 Whallops an 8.1 MP Camera

You read it right folks, that’s the new Sony Ericsson camera phone whalloping a whooping 8.1 megapixel camera. It’s not a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera but a Cyber-shot camera phone. Being the first Cyber-shot slider phone, the C905 offers the most advanced camera phone yet. Like the Sony Ericsson S302, the C905 was created to make all mobile users better photographers. The C905’s camera features include; true digital camera with Xenon flash with face detection auto-focus, smart contrast and image stabilizer. It also provides an easy and quick way of transferring photos from the camera to the PC with a USB adaptor. Here’s a rundown of the C905 features and specifications. For its other camera function the C905 features; auto focus, 16x digital zoom, photofix, picture blogging, red-eye reduction, video light, video recording and video stabilizer. For its connectivity, the C905 features aGPS, Bluetooth, modem, synchronization, USB mass storage and support. Other features of the Sony Ericsson C905 include; a 2.4-inches 262, 144 color TFT display (240×320 pixels), 160MB phone memory, GSM/GPRS talk time of 9 hours, GSM/GPRS standby time of 380 hours, UMTS talk time of 4 hours and UMTS standby time of 360 hours. Thinner, Cheaper and Faster iPhone 2.0

There you have it folks. The much anticipated WWDC has just concluded. Almost everyone in this whole internet are probably writing about the new iPhone by now. Or shall we say - the new thinner, faster and cheaper iPhone. All the rumors and speculations have been answered. Steve Jobs unveiled the second iteration of its great mobile phone products. The new iPhone promises to bring around 20,000 million units sold for Apple. And it also promises to reach as many people in the world as it can. So what has the new iPhone store for all of us? Three things - slightly new design, almost half the price of the old iphone and of course 3G internet connection. The iPhone 3G uses HSDPA to download data fast over UMTS networks. That will pretty much speed up loading times for email attachments and web pages. And users can quickly switch seamlessly from EDGE to 3G to WIFI, so users practically has 3 ways of connecting to the Internet. The iPhone 3G also gives you mobile multitasking capabilities, so users can talk on the phone while surfing the web, checking email, or using Maps, all thanks to the 3G cellular network. Next, the new iPhone also a GPS navigation feature. This is a much sought feature in the older version and finally Apple give in to users’ demand and included this feature in the new iPhone. With GPS, you can find your location, get directions, gives you map views, and lets you see traffic. Other new features of the new iPhone include; include direct link to the Apple Store, support for Microsoft Exchange Active Sync, more language support, better email management, new contacts search, enhanced viewing of attachments, and practically all the features that were introduced in the old version of the iPhone plus more. Now, the biggest surprise of them all, the new iPhone’s price – the 8GB iPhone will retail for $199!

E-Ten DX900 Boasts of Dual-Sim Card Slot

E-Ten has introduced 3 new smartphones in its line-up during the Computex. One of these new E-Ten models features a dual-sim card slot which is the first for E-Ten’s line-up of mobile phones - the DX900. The DX900 allows users to use two mobile operators at the same time. It is also considered as a world phone which runs on quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA. And since it is a smartphone, it features Windows Mobile 6.1 for its OS. Aside from these great features, the E-Ten DX900 also touts a 3.0 megapixel camera which is good enough as per standards of smart phones in its class. Plus this camera has an auto-focus, digital zoom, and accepts video calling and can record video as well. With Windows Mobile 6.1 as its OS, the DX900 will come pre-installe with various mobile Microsoft applications including Windows Media Player. Other features of the E-Ten DX900 include microSD slot, predictive text input, USB 2.0, WiFi and Bluetooth, Capacity depends on system memory, Multiple Numbers Per Contact, Picture ID, Ring ID, PIM features ( Alarm, Calendar, Calculator, TO-DO, Notes). Lastly, the E-Ten DX900 would also have a GPS capability although not too many details were available about it yet. Pricing details and release date are not yet available for this smartphone..

HTC Intros the HTC Touch Pro aka Raphael

What has been circulating in the mobile phone rumor mills as the HTC Raphael is finally and officially known as the HTC Touch Pro. And HTC has officially announced its availability some time soon. The HTC Touch Pro touts the similar slide-out QWERTY keyboard of the HTC Diamond but improved a bit on its features and specs. The HTC Touch Pro boasts of a 1350mAh battery which gives out 8 hours of talk time, a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS HSDPA 7.2 and HSUPA connectivity, quad-band EDGE or tri-band UMTS device. The HTC Touch Pro is a full featured smarthphone with great features and specifications such as; Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, 2.8-inch VGA touch screen, a 3.2 mp with video calling, 512 MB flash memory, 288 MB RAM, microSD memory card, slide-out 5 row QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, WI-FI 802.11 b/g, GPS/AGPS, HTC ExtUSB and Qualcomm MSM 7201A528MHz chipset. It gives out a good 8 hours talktime and two-weeks stand-by time.

Symbian Powered Samsung L870 Gets Official with Safari Browser

Samsung has just officially announced its latest mobile phone offering, the L870 slider which is not only sleek looking with its stainless steel body and brushed patter but most importantly it supports the Safari browser which we normally see in Apple’s web-capable devices such as the iPhone or iPod Touch. The announcement pretty much confirmed what we already know about from information and photo leaks as well as rumors that have circulate on the web. The Samsung L870 is an S60 smarthphone which runs on Symbian 9.3 and 3rd Ed. S60 interface. Samsung is also said to be planning on loading the new phone with nifty applications straight out the box, meaning the applications will be preloaded on the L870 units. The Samsung SGH-L870 will also come with a 13.5mm thick slider, 3.0 megapixel camera, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 100MB memory plus microSD slot, FM radio, Bluetooth, triband GSM support, single band UMTS/HSDPA at 3.6mbps support, Quick Office document viewer, push email, advance PIM applications, music player, video player. The Samsung L870 will be available in Europe sometime in August. No pricing details are available yet.
