This is what we’ve been waiting for: a bank and a carrier to finally announce a mobile wallet application with at least of hint of when it will launch. Rogers and CIBC have announced a mobile payment solution that will allow customers to use their NFC-enabled BlackBerry exactly as they would a credit card.

Apple has quietly rebranded its new iPad WiFi + 4G in response to continued pressure from regulators concerned that buyers were being misled over the data speeds the third-gen tablet could achieve. The tablet, now know as the new iPad WiFi + Cellular , was capable of connecting to LTE networks from Verizon and AT&T in the US, but incompatible with 4G networks elsewhere in the world.

When HTC updated its Locations app to support offline navigation with voice prompts, we were pretty impressed with its offering, which compared favorably against Nokia Drive . While we praised features like its lane-change notifications, it seems like the app is about to get quite a bit less attractive, upon the arrival of news that users will have to shell-out some cash to continue using turn-by-turn voice navigation.

Thanks to this newly-granted 2009 patent, the company has the solution — a trapezoidal keyboard designed to offer easier access of type-weary thumbs and wider keys for better accuracy.
