Best Buy Playbook 2.0 ad in Canada mentions Kindle, Twitter apps

We know that Research in Motion’s update to the Playbook operating system is due out on February 21, but we’re still a little unclear on what exactly that update will bring with it. According to a new teaser pages on the Canadian version of retailer Best Buy’s website, at least part of the new update will be the addition of new apps – apps that arguably should have made their way to the Playbook ages ago.
HTC: Thunderbolt, Rhyme and DROID Incredible 2 will receive Android 4.0 update
HTC on Friday announced via the company’s Facebook page that the Thunderbolt, Rhyme and DROID Incredible 2 will all be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. “We have more good news related to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, and can confirm that upgrades are planned for Verizon Wireless customers with the HTC Rhyme, HTC Thunderbolt, and DROID Incredible 2 by HTC, as well as the already announced HTC Rezound,” the company posted on its Facebook page.
‘Anonymous’ hacks two more U.S. government websites
Members from the notorious hacktivist collective “Anonymous Operations” have reportedly claimed responsibility for hacking two more government websites following the takedown of the Central Intelligence Agency’s website last week. The Associated Press on Friday reported that Anonymous had breached the United States Federal Trade Commission’s consumer protection business center website as well as a National Consumer Protection Week website.

While both Samsung and AT&T list the radios in the awesome new Galaxy Note LTE as quadband GSM / EDGE, tri-band UMTS / HSPA+ (850 / 1900 / 2100MHz) and dual-band LTE (1700 and 700MHz, bands 4 and 17) we’ve read emails, tweets and comments suggesting that Samsung’s giant phone (or little tablet?) is also compatible with AWS (1700 MHz) for HSPA+, which is used by T-Mobile in the US.

Samsung Galaxy Note now available in Canada
Just in time to doodle your crushes name over and over or draw hearts all over screenshots of their text messages, the Samsung Galaxy note has launched in Canada on TELUS and Rogers. The Note will take advantage of Canada’s LTE networks and also features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android Gingerbread with TouchWiz, and utilizes Samsung’s S Pen stylus for input.
