Download 30-Day Free Trial of Opera v.865 Today
October 4, 2007
Good news to all mobile users with the Windows Mobile Smartphone and Pocket PC platforms as the Opera has just released a new and improved version (v8.65)
of their very popular web browser. Apparently, they based the improvements on user feedback and beta testing results. New features include support for Macromedia Flash Player 7 for Pocket PC, FlashLite 2.1, Text Wrap in Desktop Mode (which is now available in default viewing mode), Grab and Scroll (for Pocket PC only), Web search in address bar, save image, copy text, send link as e-mail/SMS/MMS, import bookmarks from Pocket Internet Explorer. You can get the free 30-day trial version here plus a list of all other changes but to habitual mobile Internet users, the US$20.17 tag price should be worth the cash.

Touchscreen Watch-Phone: IMobile C1000
September 18, 2007
![]()
IMobile’s C1000 (M600) is a GSM phone-watch. It features USB and Bluetooth (A2DP) connectivity, a 1.5 inch touch screen, and character recognition software, which sadly is only useful if you happen to be fluent in Chinese. It has multimedia functions (audio and video player) that rely on a measly 60MB of internal memory with no option for expansion, rendering said features quite moot. However, all this doesn’t take away the fact that it is the smallest touch-screen phone watch out there. So if you’re willing to pay the price (which is currently unknown) when it hits the market (which is an unknown as well) instead of waiting a couple of more years for what might be a better version, go for it!

Early iPhone Owners get Store Credit
September 16, 2007
The issue of exclusivity aside, early iPhone owners should be delighted to know that claiming their credit from Apple is about as easy as one, two, three. All they have to do is go to the Apple iPhone Store Credit website, enter your phone number and iPhone serial number (which is located in the back of your unit btw) and you will be sent an SMS with an access code. You then enter this access code and your phone number, afterwhich you’ll get a store credit number and PIN. You can now use your credit either online or at a physical establishment. I wonder if owners who’ve lost phones due to geohot attempts get to claim their store credit. Hmmmm.

iPhoneSIMfree Delivers…In Bulk
September 3, 2007
It seems that iPhoneSIMfree is keeping its promise, sort-off. It is now going to provide its much talked-about software-based unlock available to the public, but only in bulk and only to resellers. They had this to say: “Iphonesimfree.com is a wholesale only company. Although we could, we do not and will not sell directly to end users, because we want to work together with our valuable resellers as a team and not interfere in their business.”
Open Source iPhone Unlocking Software for $100,000
August 28, 2007
That’s what this particular blogger is saying anyway. They’re offering $100,000 to anyone who would share their unlocking software with the world. And since this person will not be selling it, technically give it away to the world, supposedly it will be legal-battle free from AT&T. Whether those who supposedly have the software solution to AT&T’s iPhone dictatorship will actually settle for $100,000 is anyone’s guess. If this post is genuine, and truly legal-issue free, it might just be a good idea. Open source it to the world, gentlemen!

Search Music via VoiceSignal on Your iPhone
August 25, 2007
What do you do with 8 GB of memory? Load it up with audio and video, of course. Most of the time though, looking for a particular song gets confusing si it’s great that the people of VoiceSignal have come up with an application for the iPhone which uses voice to search for music, plus they’re currently developing another app, called VoceMode, which allows text input via voice. How cool is that?

A new website promising iPhone software unlock has popped up. iPhoneSimFree.com announces, through its website, that they are the world’s first and only software driven unlock service for the Apple iPhone. While the concept isn’t entirely new, to dispel any doubts brought by previous disappointments, the site is inviting publications from around the world to apply for one of 3 free unlocks using their “Contact Us” form. The top three applications will supposedly receive a free unlock within the next 48 hours, soon after the site promises to commercially launch the software for public consumption. Whether the site will actually deliver on its promise, we shall all see in 48 hours, or less.
