AT&T’s Got its Own Ruggedized Mobile Phone - the Samsung Rugby

AT&T has just added a ruggedized mobile phone to its lineup - the Samsung Rugby. It’s AT&T’s answer to Verizon and Sprint’s rugged phone offerings which include mobile phones such as the Boulder, the Adventure,Renegad, PRO-700 among other ruggedized phone. The Samsung Rugby is a 3G mobile phone boasting of a 1.3 megapixel camera, bluetooth and push-to-talk features. In fact the Samsung Rugby is AT&T’s first rugged Mil-Spec device that combines push-to-talk and video share calling. The Samsung Rugby is very ideal for businesses that uses on-site field services that require instant voice access. The Samsung Rugby boasts of a built tough enough to withstand harsh conditions of all on-site jobs. It has passed Military Standard MI-SID-810F and is certified to withstand dust, shock vibrations, rain humidity, solar radiation and altitude and extreme temperatures. Other features and specs of the Samsung Rugby include; a 1.3-megapixel camera with 4x zoom, mp3 support, text messaging, video sharing and instant messaging features, web browsing and mobile TV, mp3 ringtones, standard PIM features such as calendar, address book, conference calling, call forwarding, 128MB internal storage, and a 2-inch LCD. The Samsung Rugby is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz phone that supports UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900 MHz 3G Network and EDGE High Speed Data Network. Battery time last up to 5 hours talk time and 10 days stand by time. The Samsung SGH-a837 Rugby is available from AT&T with an SRP of $129.99 plusa 2-year service contract.
