BlackBerry unveils the Bold Smarthphone
May 13, 2008
Out of the blue, with just a few rumours coming out a couple of days ago, BlackBerry suddenly unveils its newest smartphone model, the BlackBerry Bold. Already mobile phone industry analysts and spectators started calling the BlackBerry Bold as the newest competitor to the upcoming Apple 3G iPhone. But let’s leave the 3G iPhone for awhile and see what the BlackBerry Bold has to offer. Design wise, the BlackBerry Bold still exhibits the same classic professional common to all BlackBerry devices. From its lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame to its stylish leather-like backplate, as well as its stunning display, sophisticated user interface and a newly designed QWERTY keyboard. Everything appears that RIM has exerted extra effort to make the BlackBerry Gold stand out just at first look. Looks are not all there is to the BlackBerry Gold. Inside its stunningly beautiful body are great mobile features. These features include; support for tri-band HSDPA and enterprise-grade Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g) networks, 624 MHz mobile processor, 128 MB flash memory plus a 1GB on-board storage memory, microSD/SDHC memory card slot, Blackberry productivity applications – phone, email, messaging, organizer and browser, compatible with other third-part mobile business and lifestyle applications, half-VGA (480×320) resolution color LCD that displays vibrant and sharp images and videos, on-the-go web browsing experience, trackball that mimics a mouse for easy navigation, support for streaming videos, powerful Wi-Fi and GPS, 2 megapixel camera with flash, 5 hours talk time and 13 days standby time and support for various digital music formats. No word yet on which carrier will the BlackBerry Bold come out first. It would be interesting to find out soon.
