Symbian Powered Samsung L870 Gets Official with Safari Browser

Samsung has just officially announced its latest mobile phone offering, the L870 slider which is not only sleek looking with its stainless steel body and brushed patter but most importantly it supports the Safari browser which we normally see in Apple’s web-capable devices such as the iPhone or iPod Touch. The announcement pretty much confirmed what we already know about from information and photo leaks as well as rumors that have circulate on the web. The Samsung L870 is an S60 smarthphone which runs on Symbian 9.3 and 3rd Ed. S60 interface. Samsung is also said to be planning on loading the new phone with nifty applications straight out the box, meaning the applications will be preloaded on the L870 units. The Samsung SGH-L870 will also come with a 13.5mm thick slider, 3.0 megapixel camera, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 100MB memory plus microSD slot, FM radio, Bluetooth, triband GSM support, single band UMTS/HSDPA at 3.6mbps support, Quick Office document viewer, push email, advance PIM applications, music player, video player. The Samsung L870 will be available in Europe sometime in August. No pricing details are available yet.

Gresso Diamond-Laced Luxury Mobile Phones

Got more room for another one of ‘em ultra expensive luxury phones? Here’s another two of them courtesy of Russian company Gresso who is not really new into the luxury phone market. Gresso has already introduced several luxury phones including the Gresso Luna and Sol and the Black Diamond collections and the Luna and Sol Stee. For its latest offering, Gresso is unveiling its Avant Garde White Diamond Collection mobile phone. And under this new White Diamond collections are two mobile phones - the Gresso White Diamond and the Gresso Royal White Diamonds. Don’t even bother thinking whether these two handsets are different when it comes to price, for certainly both of them would definitely come with an ultra hefty price. If you’re still interested, the White Diamonds Collection boasts of the same avant garde design as the other Gresso luxury phones. The Gresso White Diamond mobile phone is made from a 200-year old African blackwood, its keyboards made of base plate titanium metal. Even its battery cover is made of some precious stainless steel material. In addition the battery cover is covered with leather and gold decoration. Not enough to wow you? Well, you ought to know that the displays of these two new phones are made of 18K gold! While all the numbers in the keypad are laser-cut in Roman style. The Royal White Diamond mobile phone being the more expensive of the two will be priced at around 33000 euro while the Gresso White Diamond mobile phone would retail for 9000 euro. Now for their phone features, both mobile handsets would have tri-band GSM support, 65K color TFT display with QVGA resolution, a microSD memory card slot, 2 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6. The White Diamond collection luxury phones will be presented from May 30 to June 3 during the JCK Las Vegas.

Verzio Kicks Out its first 3G Envii Phone in Asia

A new 3.5G high-speed packet data access (HSDPA) PDA phone has been launched in some countries in Asia. It’s from Regional 3C brand Verzio and the phone is branded as Verzio Envii. Although it was already available in the Philippines as early as March, it is only now that the it has been released in some parts of Asia. The Verzio Envii runs on Marvell PXA270 processor at 624MHZ and has Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 for its OS. And with this OS, the Verzio Envii gives access to various Microsoft Office applications. It also comes preloaded with media player functions, Outlook Mobile with Direct Push, mobile internet access, active function and vbasic functions. It is definitely a powerful PDA phone despite the well known branding. Hopefully it gets available internationally as it could definitely give other mobile phone brands a run for their money. Other features of the Verzio Envii include, GSM Triban (900/1800,1900 MHz), HSDPA/UTMS/GPRS, 1GB ROM, 64MB RAM, 2.7-inch display with 64k TFT colors, dual speaker with SRS WOW HD, 2.0 megapixel camera, secondary video camera for video call, mini-USB, 2.5mm Audio Jack, Bluetooth, FM Radio with RDS. The Verzion Envii is also a very handy mobile phone measuring only 106×58x18mm and weighs a mere 145grams. Motorola W755 goes to Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless is releasing the entry-level Motorola W755 available for purchase through Verizon’s website and retail outlets. And being an entry-level mobile phone, the W755 doesn’t promise too much in terms of features and capabilities. Motorola however promises not only great call sounds but also when listening to music on the Motorola W755. Yes, it is an entry-level phone that also features a music player. In addition, the Motorola W755 also boast of touch-sensitive controls that lets you access music, activate Bluetooth and adjust ring volumes or mute calls without even opening the phone. Ok, I know we shouldn’t expect a lot from an entry-level phone, right? But what can we do, though it would seem that the W755 is a simple clamshell phone, but actually it is more than just your simple basic phone. In fact, it boasts of other features that you wouldn’t expect from a phone that is being marketed as a basic mobile phone. And these features include; 1.3 mp camera without flash, microUSB port, dual color displays, 83mb internal memory, microSD memory card slot, 5 theme choices, downloadable games, mp3 playback, MMS and SMS, Bluetooth, speakerphone, voice recognition. The W755 gives out 390 hours of standby time and 220 minutes of talk time. The W755 will be available starting today for $119 with a 2-year Verizon Wireless contract.

Introducing the dirt cheap Philips 198 and 199

Philips is set to release two new affordable phones for the Asian and European mobile phone market. Both handsets looks the same in design, dimension and features except that the 199 is equipped with FM radio and headsets. These two candy bar mobile phone pretty much carry the same features as their predecessor, the Philips 192 which was released not too long ago. And these features include; the simple black/white design, 65g weight and the 99 X 42 X 13.5 mm dimension. In addition to this similarities with the Philips 192, both Philips 198 and 199 boast of 1.5-inch CSTN color display with support for 62k colors and 128×128 pixel resolution, simple to use keypad, 4-way navigation key, polyphonic ringtones, 3 embedded games, miniUSB, SMS and MMS capabilities, T9 predictive text input and 800 mAh battery which can give out 5 hours of talk-time and 20 days stand-by time. Connectivity wise, the Philips 198 and 199 remind me of the old Nokia days, where dual-band GSM connectivity was a great feature. Yes, both these mobile phones has GPRS too. And guess how much the Philips 198 and 199 will retail in Asia and Europe? $68 and $70 respectively. Didn’t we say dirt cheap?

 

Christian Dior Phone is the Mother of All Luxury phones

Will you actually buy a phone worth $3500-$5000? If you answer yes, then the upcoming Christian Dior luxury phone might just be the phone for you. If you answer no, you might find this new mobile beauty a bit interesting too. Although the Christian Dior luxury phone has started to circulate in the rumorland, it took the Wall Street Journal to finally convince us all mobile phone afficionados to believe that there is actually a Christian Dior phone. And judging by the released publicity photo, this phone definitely the mother of all luxury phones. Is it all beauty and grandeur? Certainly not. The Christian Dior phone is to work worldwide, except Japan and Korea. And it will have features such as a touchscreen display, camera, specialist ringtone, custom graphics to go along with the external design, wallpapers, and who knows what more. It even comes with a remote or a mini phone or perhaps a Bluetooth accessory. We are not sure, since we are relying only on the published spy shot. What else do we know about this new luxury phone. WSJ also reported that the Christian Dior phone would have a “My Dior” that will clip to outside of bags for easy access. And of course we already know that the Christian Dior phone is geared for the noveau rich mobile phone users., specifically from Russia and China. Christian Dior is aiming to market around 10,000 of these expensive phones in one year. As to when it will be available, we don’t know yet. But do we really care? Unless you are one of those Noveau Riches, then you will certainly anticipate this new luxury phone.

Mobiado intros another luxury phone - Professional 105 ZAF

Being a luxury phone, we would expect the 105 ZAF to be made of the finest materials. And indeed it was. Adorned by sapphire crystals from front to back, users will definitely be forced to take good care of this mobile phone. The phone’s keypads were made of stainless steel and its body with anodized aircraft aluminum. The Mobiado Professional 105 ZAF also supports quad-band GSM/dual-band WCDMA networks. And for its other features, the Mobiado Professional 105 ZAF boasts of 2-inch display with up to 16 million colors, 2.0 megapixel camera, 1GB of internal memory, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, music player that supports MP3, AAC, and eAAC. Unfortunately, Mobiado has not provided pricing details for the Professional 105 ZAF. But expect it to be expensive as it is not your ordinary mobile phone.

Dubbed as the SGH-i900, this mobile beauty would surely makes us all non-Chine mobile phone users feel envious of our friends from China once they got hold of this new mobile phone. And if the thought of an international release for the SGH-i900 makes you feel excited, what more if you learn about the power of this new mobile handset. For starters, you have a Wi-Fi, 3.5 touchscren display, 16gb of onboard memory with microSD expansion, 5 megapixel autofocus camera. These are certainly enough to make us crave for the Samsung SGH-i900. Motorola RAZR2 Pink Silver Edition released for Korean girls

Motorola is treating our friends from Korea, specifically female mobile users with the release of a pink colored Razr2 clamshell baby. The new Motorola RAZR2 pink silver edition sports a subdued pink casing and espresso colored keypad that gives it an elegant style. It’s metallic silver front has been tinted in pink for an added classic look and lightness to the already chic RAZR2. None other than Motorola Korea’s Marketing Director Lim Joung, was so pleased with the release of the pink silver RAZR2 and said that “With its luxurious yet tranquil look and carefully-selected features, the RAZR2 Pink Silver was designed to appeal to the confident young generation.” Indeed, the RAZR2 would answer young Korean girls’ demand for an innovatively powerful and yet stylish Motorola mobile phone handset. The Motorola RAZR2 features an innovative Tandem Display technology with two displays, one embedded on either side of the flip which allows for effortless message sending and lets users enjoy other functions even when the RAZR2 is shut down. Other features of the Motorola RAZR2 include; Bluetooth, camera, VOD, MOD, MP3, high-speed USB 2.0 and phone navigation. The RAZR2 Pink Silver is now available in Korean mobile stores. Pricing details are not available though. Likewise, there is not information also as to whether the RAZR2 would hit US stores sometime soon.
