Tag Heuer unveils own luxury mobile phone – welcome the Meridiist phone
April 17, 2008
In the line of LG’s Armani, Prada and even Levi’s mobile phone, comes luxury sports watch maker Tag Heuer’s very own mobile phone – the Meridiist. First announced last November, the Tag Heuer joins the groups of companies in coming up with their own fusion of technology and fashion. The Meridiist was hand assembled from 430 compoinents to preserve its class and pristine quality. It was also constructed from corrosion-resistant watchmaking 316L steel. Adding value to Tag Heuer’s luxury mobile phone is an unscratchable display made of 60.5 carats sapphire crystal. The Meridiist most astonishing feature is a cool time display located on the top end of the cell phone. This reduces the hassle of turning the phone and unlocking its keypad just to activate the time display at the phone’s main menu. There are currently no specific details and technical specifications for the Meridiist. But among its many nifty features include, 28 day standby time and 7 hours talktime. If you don’t mind spending too much for a mobile phone that doubles up as a time piece, expect the Meridiist to be available sometime in September in some watch and jewelry stores (would Tiffany’s carry the Meridiist?). No pricing and released date information were provided by Tag Heuer’s site for watches. Hopefully, the price tag would not be affected by the Tag Heuer’s usual price for watches. But then, this might be hoping against hope as we all know how expensive Tag Heuer watches are. Via
