Cellphone Ban Enforced in Carribean Resort

September 1, 2007

Planning a trip to the Caribbean for a little R&R? Well, you might be interested in one a couple of resorts’ new policies. The Elite Rsort Island has now enforced a NO CELLPHONE policy, while PDAs and laptops are BANNED within half a mile of Casarina beach. Aiming to provide their patrons with total rest and relaxation, the resort put their foot down regarding the use of mobile phones within their premises also so as not to disturb other clients who want peace and quiet on their holiday. It is true that the presence of mobiles, handhelds and laptops distract us from enjoying the view — the sea, sky and sand, as well as spending quality time with our loved ones or having some quiet time for ourselves. Plus, we all know how irritating it can be to sit beside someone screaming his head off while talking to business partners, when all you want to do is listen to the waves crashing while sipping pina coladas.
