Cingular Motorola ROKR Phone a Yawner

On the same day that Apple announced the Nano Ipod, there was another announcement about the new Motorola ROKR that can holds up to 100 itunes songs. You can’t buy iTunes songs onto the ROKR and you can’t get more than 100 songs onto the ROKR despite the fact that it has 512 MB of memory.
Come on guys, this thing sucks. It’s ugly for one thing. Go to the apple.com website and it’s relegated to some secondary announcement at the bottom of the site, which is dominated (as of this writing) by pictures of the Apple Nano. MP3 players on phones is not a new thing, there have been multiple manufacturers (read “Sony Ericsson”).
The only thing great about this phone is that you can play iTunes songs on it on an interface you may be familiar with. Again, *yawn*, big deal. What a disappointment. Go with a Sony Ericsson.
The Motorola ROKR is the world’s first ever music phone featuring the Apple iTunes(R) mobile music player allowing you to take your favorite playlists - featuring full length tracks - wherever you go in one convergence product at the touch of a single dedicated iTunes button. Advanced stereo and lighting technology offer amazing sound and delivers reactions you can see and feel. The Motorola ROKR will have you seamlessly grooving to a new beat!
Music On The Go
With the Motorola ROKR; just upload and go! The integrated iTunes mobile music player syncs with iTunes on your computer via USB cable, just like an iPod Shuffle. Whether you “Autofill”, or manually pick a playlist, you are in for the ultimate in music portability.
INCOMING!!!
Have an incoming call? No problem! With the Motorola ROKR simply accept the call and iTunes will automatically pause your music while you talk on the stereo ear-phones with integrated microphone. When you’re done with your conversation, simply end the call and your music will return to where you left off when the call came in.
Stereo Surround Sound
3D stereo sound via dual 22KHz speakers will “WOW” your friends when you crank up your favorite song! Music-based sounds are richer, deeper, and crisper providing a more intense experience, allowing you to become fully connected to your favorite artists. You can also choose to pop in your included stereo ear-phones and make all your friends envious of your sleek new phone.
Music In Color!
With the Motorola ROKR’s large color screen, cd-album information and artwork associated with your music vividly shows next to the current track. An integrated VGA camera with video capture and playback ensures you’ll never miss a moment.
Groove On
The Motorola ROKR is custom-made for anyone who wants to have fun. J2ME games and downloads via GPRS eliminate boredom - new music, ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers and information are all just a touch away .
