Nokia Launches First TD-SCDMA 6788 Phone in China

Nokia has just announced its first ever TD-SCDMA mobile phone - the Nokia 6788. This mobile device works with TD-SCDMA, China’s domestic 3G standard and it is the result of a collaboration between Nokia and China Mobile, the country’s largest mobile phone operator.The Nokia 6788 provides users with rich data services being an all-around mobile phone with faster Internet connectivity speed and download times. Nokia is banking on China Mobile’s faster 3G services to give the 6788 users a more pleasant experience when using the phone when browsing the Internet while using the Nokia 6788. China Mobile hopes that its collaboration with Nokia would bring in further development to TD-SCDMA.Going back to the Nokia 6788’s features and specs, the mobile phone was specifically designed for China Mobile’s network. It features a 5 MP camera with dual-LED flash, a 2.8-inch QVGA display, some Chinese design elements including traditional Chinese patters on the back side and the battery cover. The Nokia 6788 runs on Symbian S60 Platform and it will be available in China by the end of December 2009.
